I am pleased to write this unsolicited letter as acknowledgement of the excellent work performed by your team during the clearance of slash pine, camphor laurel and other noxious weeds on our property.

Our family felt some trepidation prior to commencement of the project: the earth moving business is not known for its ‘sensitivity’ and our family had just moved into a lovely house with nice gardens. We did not want to lose any of the natural beauty of our property, but realised that we could not let existing vegetation get out of control.

Our site was not an easy one to tackle: large trees close to, and overhanging our house, rainforest trees and shrubs intermingled with noxious weeds, sloping land, boggy clay soil with a seasonal stream (and recent rain) combined with overhead high-voltage power lines were some of the challenges faced by your operators.

At the commencement of the project we met the machine operators, and having spoken with them, realised that not only did they know their business, but they had a ‘can do’ attitude to our project. Nothing was too much trouble; ensuring no breaks in our concrete drive required skilful handling of a 35 ton machine in tight corners. Then there was Stuart’s innovative use of massive pine ‘bollards’ to protect shrubs, ornamental trees and rainforest trees in our garden; a critical (and sensitive) feature of the eventual success of this project.

I will make some final comments on the clean up you arranged for our site. After felling we were taken aback by the apparent devastation: Deep ruts, muddy tracks, scarred earth and bare slopes with large branches, pine needles, and twigs strewn everywhere. What a sense of relief we felt when the posi-track came on site and within two days had cleared up the mess, levelled the ruts and formed three neat burn piles. Your service even extended to assistance with a fire permit and burning arrangements.
